The Latest Dental Technology

To ensure that our patients receive the most efficient and comfortable care possible, Shelby Family Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry, PC incorporates high-end technology into every treatment. We use all of the latest equipment to collect information about your oral health. The systems and machines we use also allow for more complex procedures to be completed with maximum comfort in as little time as possible. Dr. DiRezze and the team at Shelby Family Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry, PC understand that the less time you spend in the dentist’s chair, the better!

CT Scanner

CT Scanner

Our office uses a CT scanner for advanced imaging. The CT scanner takes our x-rays and uses them to create an accurate model of your entire mouth. These models allow us to customize treatments and perform procedures with the correct information on what we need to fix. These scans are especially helpful in diagnosing and treating TMJ disorders and placing dental implants.

Digital Impressions

We use a digital scanner for taking dental impressions because we prioritize comfort, convenience, and accuracy. Instead of creating a physical impression using disgusting plastic goo and trays, we use the digital scanner to quickly obtain highly accurate scans that can be viewed and altered digitally.

Joint Vibration Analysis

Joint vibration analysis is used to identify and treat TMJ conditions. Patients wear this device over their head, similar to headphones, while they sleep so that the device can record any noises that the jaw makes during the night. This piece of tech seems freaky, but it allows Dr. DiRezze to quickly diagnose, identify, and treat your existing jaw pain.

Intraoral Camera

Intraoral Cameras

This is a small, hand-held device with a built-in light source about the size of a dental mirror. The intraoral camera lets us zoom in on one tooth or make a video of your entire mouth. You and our team can see whatever the camera sees on a nearby monitor, showing you any issues that require restorative care. With this knowledge, you can make informed treatment decisions with our insights.

Digital X-Ray

Digital X-Rays

We’ve all had x-rays, but our digital techniques are simple, safer, and more convenient! Digital x-rays offer several advantages over traditional x-rays: less radiation, higher quality images, immediate results, easy transfer of records to another provider, environmentally friendly, and more comfort during the scanning process.

DIAGNOdent

DIAGNOdent

Shelby Family Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry, PC uses this laser equipment to detect cavities and gum disease in the earliest stages. Catching these issues before significant damage has been done can lead to less tooth decay and tooth loss and prevent the need for more extensive treatment procedures.
